How to Dye, Print, and Choose Coating Additives for Non woven Fabrics
Times:2023-3-25 Source:
With the rapid development of nonwoven technology and the continuous expansion of application fields, the market demand for functional and personalized nonwoven products has further increased. At the same time, dyeing and finishing technology is playing an increasingly important role in the non-woven fabric manufacturing industry. It can be said that dyeing and finishing technology has become one of the important means to promote the upgrading of nonwoven products, improve brand names and added value, and increase functionality.
Non woven fabric printing and dyeing technology
For non-woven fabrics with loose structures and low strength, if printing and dyeing processes are used to treat woven fabrics, it will not only be difficult to meet the requirements of relevant application fields, but also have long processes, low efficiency, high costs, and large fabric deformation. Therefore, non-woven fabrics are often dyed/printed with coatings.
Non woven fabric coating dyeing process:
Taking the spunlaced nonwoven production line as an example, there are two main processing methods: online dyeing and offline dyeing.
Online dyeing processes include: fiber loosening, cotton opening, carding, pricking, foam dyeing (adhesives, coatings and other additives), drying and rolling. The advantage of foam dyeing is energy saving, but it has the disadvantage of uneven dyeing.
Offline dyeing processes include: spunlaced nonwoven fabric, feed fabric, dip rolling (adhesives, coatings and other additives), pre drying, stretch drying or drum drying, and winding.
Non woven fabric pigment printing process:
If printing, coating, adhesives, corresponding additives, and the color paste of water mixtures also require the addition of thickeners to increase viscosity, and the color paste is printed on non-woven fabrics through a drum printing machine. During the drying process, the adhesive is self crosslinked to fix the color paste on the non-woven fabric.
Taking the spunlaced nonwoven production line as an example, the online printing processes include: loose fiber, cotton opening, carding, spunlaced, dipping, printing (coating and additives), drying and winding. The process can be used for dipping (two dipping and two rolling) or foam dipping. Some factories do not have this process, which is mainly determined by the customer's requirements for product quality and application fields.
